Mathew Wilson: Senior Vice President, Policy & Government Relations, CME: “Post Election Canada US Relations and Economic Update”
November 26 @ 1 Eastern
Mathew will join us after the US election to help dissect the implications of the US political situation for Canadian business. CME plays a major role in advocating for Canadian business with the government and this will be a critical time both to get updates and provide input on current and future issues country wide.
CME has also been actively promoting their “Manufacturing our Future” strategy which is a three-phase strategy to help governments leverage the opportunity to reshape our economic landscape and the capacity of Canada’s manufacturing industry from crisis response to economic prosperity.
Strategic long-term growth will come through a modern industrial strategy that focuses on competitiveness. Focus must be placed on addressing historical challenges, including reducing the cost of doing business, improving regional value-chains, and leveraging our natural assets for economic development at home and abroad.
Mathew will also be able to provide updates on the future of programs including CEWS as Canada navigates its struggle to co-exist with COVID-19.
Mathew Wilson is an experienced association executive who has developed and coordinated Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) government relations activities since 2011. Over this time, the association has become known as the most influential business association in Canada, meeting with more senior officials than any other association and securing significant support for the sector based on the needs of its members.
